RIFLE SHOOTING - Round 2
The second round, of the fifteen scheduled, of the Caithness Small-bore Rifle Association’s postal winter league programme saw a marked improvement in scores, compared to the initial round, and most competitors are settling to the task in hand.
The highlight of the current round was the very impressive aggregate – three points dropped - from Watten “A”, in the first division tie, against Pentland “A”.
Division One - (Points dropped ex 400) – Wick O.S.”A” 5, Banff & MacDuff “A” 6. In the best tie of the round the Moray Firth sharpshooters were unlucky to meet an on-song Stagers squad whose returns (ex100) were: D.Simpson 100, H.Simpson 99, J.R. Sinclair 99, G. Ronaldson 97.

Division Two – Halkirk “B” 10, Westfield “B” 21. The villagers, defending league champions, were never troubled by a lacklustre showing from the latter. Scores – Halkirk: J.G. Neil Brims, David Wilson (both Watten) and John Campbell (Halkirk) all had the perfect score.
